Good morning everyone and welcome to the blog part of my personal site. The topic of the post is ” Photo Editing First Touch “.
As I mentioned in a recent post, I’m just starting to get into using an IOS application software on my new tablet. I would like to point out that this is absolutely my first real and concrete experience, and consequently I will still have a lot to learn (as always…). Furthermore, as an introduction to the topic, I would like to underline that photo editing, as far as I have already widely verified, is a matter of personal taste and truly subjective.
So the title of today’s post is absolutely correct and real, Photo Editing First Touch.
My choice for photo editing, as I have already written, was for an application that is simple to understand and easy to use. Furthermore, taking advantage of a limited time offer (I believe now expired) with a few dozen euro I purchased a lifetime license. So without the costs of annual subscriptions. Furthermore, being able to work with a tablet with a good internal memory capacity, I have made the ability to edit photographs “portable”.
I’m also aware of the fact that this software is probably not the most complete and does not offer all the tools of other software, which are also more expensive. But this was a conscious choice, in favor of extreme ease of use, and editing that is certainly not professional and advanced, but still interesting and above all SIMPLE and EASY to do.
So now, let’s start with a brief introduction to the topic. First of all, the photo files that will be the subject of photo editing must necessarily be RAW type files. Not that you can’t edit a JPG type file, but the editing result will be really poor and uninteresting.
Photo Editing First Touch
Here is an example of a photograph. FIRST one I think is worthy of showing, where you can see a RAW (24,6Mb) file subjected to a very basic photo editing treatment (March 16, 2025). The photograph was taken on the same date on a day with mostly cloudy skies, alternating with short stretches of sunshine between the clouds. Temperature around 14C, and a very light haze. Location: Trezzo sull’Adda (Mi).
Data relating to the photo shoot: Photo taken at 210mm – F10 – Shutter speed: 1/160 – Mode: Shutter priority | Freehand, at the minimum distance allowed from the lens (1,5mt).
Equipment used: Sony Alpha 6400 (APS-C) – Lens: Sony 55-210mm OSS. (F4.5-6.3)

Given the day with modest light, and at times really poor, I had to work in editing on the LIGHT in particular, and on the details and sharpness of the photograph. Both photographs were exported in JPG format and are visible to You in 16:9 format (6000 x 3376 pixels). Exactly the file generated by photo editing. About 14,5Mb each photo.
Don’t be fooled by what appears to be a poor result. With the photo enlarged and visible on a good monitor, the result is definitely interesting. It was also the first photograph ever to be processed. I believe that with a little practice and exercise, you can do better..
Photo retouching, and therefore the modification of some parameters of RAW photography, is however very subjective. The changes that are made in photo editing are however very personal and derived from personal taste.
I’m aware that as always, concrete experience will improve the results that will be obtained.
In any case, I’m very satisfied with the purchase I made. I am practicing its practical use, doing tests with various photographs. I find it simple and very easy to use and understand. While having many interesting features and a wide range of opportunities in editing. I will propose on the site, some comparative tests, in order to make evident how much I will have learned in the meantime (I hope). And without the ambition of teaching anything to anyone, but only to testify the CONCRETE test of the software.
As always, I thank you for your attention and reading the post, and above all I invite you to always make your own direct and concrete experience. In my opinion, the best way to understand and learn.
