*** The evaluations refer to the specimen in my hands, and also to the use of the relative adapter ***

Photos taken with lens. Manual focus with M42/NEX adapter mounted on camera.

My evaluation after some months it’s very positive, this lens it’s a very good lens, sharp like a razor and defined. Easy to use, dozens of photographic shots testify to the goodness and quality of this vintage lens. I like in particular bokeh it produce when stopped down (F4 – F2.8 and F1.8). I can recommend it, it has completely satisfied me. *** November 2022 *** I think I fell in love with this little vintage lens. I’m basically just using it. I am gratified by the photographic rendering, and the blur effect that I manage to obtain … By now 50% of my photographic sessions are made with the ” Pancolar – 50mm F1.8 “… I’m enthusiastic !

CZJ Pancolar 50mm F1.8 is a brand name of a series of optics produced by ” VEB Carl Zeiss Jena “, built on the double Gauss optical scheme like the Planar, but unlike the Planar it has an asymmetrical structure. The Zeiss Jena Pancolar was unanimously considered to be at least one step higher and therefore an object of desire by many photographers equipped with Exacta or Praktica and M42/Pentax mount cameras. The model MC (model I own) have the multilayer anti-reflection treatment or MULTICOATING, the previous ones only the mono layer coating treatment.
